Supporting the Westminster Wildbots Robotics Team
The Wildbots are a Robotics team from Westminster Secondary School in London which is made up of 25 students and 3-5 teacher mentors.
The extra-curricular club is a hive of activity where students can be involved in science, technology, engineering and math. The students from the club, grades 9-12, don’t just learn real-world engineering, coding, electronics, design, etc., they also gain broader capabilities like problem solving, communication skills and tenacity.
There are 40 different countries’ high school students competing in Robotics competitions.
The Robotics club isn’t all about building a robot, but it includes:
- The Business Team that puts together the whole business plan.
- The Navigators that “navigate” the competition requirements.
- The Builders who also look to the requirements of the competition and build components.
- The Coders who put together the building blocks for the robot.
The cheque presented by Kiwanis will help pay for the Wildbots’ entry to the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition which takes place in March 2024.
