Every year, the Forest City London Kiwanis club joins forces with Staples to bring much needed backpacks and school supplies to students in need here in London with it’s School Supply Drive.
The drive begins in August with customers making donations at Staples as they check out.
For the past few years, we have partnered with the Staples store at Wellington Rd./Baseline. Staples then partners with the Thames Valley Education Foundation.
The TVEF has a great pulse on the specific needs of elementary and secondary school students in the City of London. Using funds collected from the campaign from the previous year, TVEF purchased backpacks and back-to-school supplies, then filled the backpacks during July and August.
Volunteers from Kiwanis and Staples assisted in the assembly and distribution. The supplies were then ready for students in need once the school year began.
This year’s donation totaled just under $4200!
