opening of a Kiwanis club in Hamilton in 1916 was significant not just for
Canada but for the broader organization because at that point Kiwanis
was first able to consider itself an international rather than a
national organization. This year's Eastern Canada and the Caribbean District Convention was in Hamilton, Ontario, and the International Convention will be in Toronto, Ontario. Both gatherings will include special celebratory events to mark 100 years of Kiwanis in Canada.
